Travel through time

The first VELUX roof window was developed in 1942 and delivered to a new school building. With the roof windows installed, the attic storey could also be used for classrooms – with direct access to light and air. The idea of using every square metre possible under the sloping roofs was also ideal for housing, especially after World War 2 when housing was in short supply.

In ‘Travel through time’ you experience how the VELUX roof window has transformed everyday life by raising the bar for comfort under the sloping roofs. The journey through time begins in a dark attic from the 1920s and ends in a penthouse flat from 2016.
